Yolanda Lyons

Hospital Manager

Yolanda is originally from Philadelphia, PA, but her family moved to Bear, DE when she was 11 years old. She earned her B.S. (Summa Cum Laude) in Pre-Veterinary Science from Delaware State University in 2004. The day after graduating, she studied abroad in Namibia, where she learned the impact that agriculture had on their socio-economic infrastructure (14 years post colonial independence). That summer, she also attended an internship at Virginia Tech at the school of Veterinary Medicine, where she researched the effects of Vitamin E supplementation to parenteral admixtures.

She has been a Veterinary Technician since 2004. Prior to becoming a technician, she also interned at the Philadelphia Zoo, where she worked with many species, both small, large and exotic (one of her favorites were the Prehensile tailed Porcupines). She also earned her certification in phlebotomy from the Dawn Career Institute in 2012. In March 2013, she joined Circle Veterinary Clinic, as a Veterinary Technician.

Her passions include, but are not limited to dentistry, anesthetics, radiography, and nutrition. She loves helping others, and excels at multi-tasking. In February 2022, she was given the honor of leading our team as Hospital Manager. Her absolute favorite dog breed is the Great Dane (she has a Dane tattoo on her left arm), so of course, she had to rescue one! She has a sweet and lovable, harlequin, named Ripley! She adores cats as well, and is known for taming the meanest kitties (she's been called the Cat Whisperer by some)! She also has a cool, tuxedo, kitty named Blaze. Let's not forget her beautiful daughter, Madison, and her partner in crime, Robb. During her downtime, she likes to read, draw, write, listen to music and on nice days, take walks with her family.

Yolanda has loved being part of Circle for all of these years. Circle feels like one big family, and it's nice to have a clientele that are like family as well. We strive to do our best to provide them with great customer service and our patients with quality care!
